CNC Machinist

Get started in a hands-on career using manufacturing technology to produce parts for a wide variety of industries. You’ll learn to work with CNC machinery to create tools and parts from metal, plastic and various other materials.

CNC machinists start with digital designs and end with physical products. Take our course to gain experience in set-up procedures and programming of computer numerically controlled (CNC) machines.

Prerequisites Include: 

  • Basic Machine Shop or passing score in free Basic Machine Shop assessment at M-TEC.

Students will learn:

  • How to use precision measurement equipment
  • Blueprint reading
  • Shop math calculations
  • On-the-job set-ups
  • G-code programming and part production on the CNC mill and lathe 

Students who successfully complete this program may qualify to apply for CNC programmer position openings.
